1) Why choose House Call Physical Therapy and Fitness for my physical therapy needs?
We strive to provide you with a positive and pleasant experience with your physical therapy. You will receive one-on-one treatment from the same physical therapist each time, in the privacy and comfort of your home. Also you can save time and money by having us come to you at no extra cost!
2) Do I need a prescription to receive physical therapy?
No. New York State allows you to receive physical therapy from a physical therapist with at least 3 years of practical experience, also referred to as direct access. Some insurance plans may not cover physical therapy without a prescription, let us assist you in contacting your insurance company to determine your coverage.
3) How much does it cost to receive physical therapy?
If you use your health insurance for physical therapy services then you would be responsible for your physical therapy copayment and/or deductible, just the same as any other outpatient clinic. There is no extra charge for us to come to you. You can also private pay for physical therapy if you have no health insurance, or, if your insurance benefits are used up.
4) Tell me more how physical therapy can help me?
Physical therapists can treat a wide range of medical issues, from muscle or joint injuries, post surgical joint replacements or repairs, to neurological issues from stroke to multiple sclerosis and balance or gait dysfunctions. Physical therapist's will evaluate you on your first visit to determine where your problem areas are and formulate a plan of care to address them. We treat these deficits using interventions such as exercises, manual or hands on techniques, balance and gait training, and education to help you with posture, body mechanics, and a home exercise program.
5) Do I need to be homebound to receive physical therapy in my home from HCPT and Fitness?
No. Most homebound patients receive home health physical therapy at home from a home health agency, typically after being discharged from a hospital or rehab faciltiy. If you did receive home health PT then afterward you begin the outpatient phase of your therapy, and as a private practice, thats were we can be of service. Often people that just finished with their home health PT still can't drive so let us come to you for your outpatient therapy and save you the hassle.
5) What types of settings can you provide your services?
The most common setting is a patient's house. But we can also provide our services in an assisted living facility, or a senior independent living facility. We are unable to provide services in the hospital setting or a long term care nursing home facility.
